Game Title: Kirby Super Star
Publisher: Nintendo
Year: 1996 ESRB Rating: K+A
Platform: SNES Genre: Adventure Platformer
·
Fun
Factor: It’s very fun, it has a
variety of different episodes/adventures to play, from collecting treasure in
caves, to fighting a boss rush with limited supply of health drops. The major mechanic in this game is also alot of fun, which are copy abilties that give you powerful moves or are used to solve puzzles.
·
Learning
Curve: It has a very simple learning
curve with easy to understand gameplay, move lists for all the abilities, and
tutorials at the beginning of each mode.
·
Graphics: The graphics looked very nice. I like the
cartoony, kid friendly style they had with the game. The graphics were also pretty simple as well.
·
Audio: All
of the soundtracks sound nice, and it has good variety. All of the area themes fit the area and tone.
·
Controls: Controls were easy to understand, and if
you forgot how to do a move, you could pause and look at the move list
·
Story: Story is nice and simple in each episode,
from getting the stolen food back from king DeDeDe, to hunting treasure, the
game doesn’t take itself too seriously.
· Characters:
Kirby, King DeDeDe, Meta Knight are all the major characters in the
game. But since it’s a kid’s game, there’s no character arc for any of these
characters really, not that it’s a problem.
·
Level Design:
The levels were fun. From the rooms where you just have fun defeating
enemies, to solving puzzles/doing trials, sometimes even using abilities to
solve them
·
Changes: Only change I’d really make is to add
more games.
· Recommendation:
It’s a great title on the SNES that you must play if you’re interested
in SNES games and such. Which is perfect since its coming on the SNES mini
